Work Ready Club
Program
Young adults gain the competitive edge as Work Ready coaches to help prepare them for the future. Teens work closely with there individual coach to help them identify their skills and career interests while gaining hands-on work experience. The Work Ready Club program offers opportunities for leadership development and helps young adults gain communication and teamwork skills that attract employer interest.
Service Model
Schools, community agencies and universities partner with MCCA to offer the program during the school and summer. Most teens enroll through their schools and attend workshops on weekends and in the summer. Each partner site will offer programs that will accommodate the teens they wish to serve.
Goals
Prepare teens for the new millennium by equipping them with skills that will enhance their market value and help them be come responsible and independent adults.
Program Benefits
Teens will benefit in the following ways:
Broaden individuals understanding of is expectations of their employer
Begins the process of helping teens identify resources available to them at resources fairs and employment opportunities
Helps to eliminate individual stereo types about working with others and the fears of working at a young age
When teens apply for employment they will be equip with a resume, a certification and work ready uniform to help identify their accomplishments
Employers will be pleased with teens prepared to work through our program and will be open to excepting others who earned their Work Ready Certificate
